THE BOMB HAS ARRIVED

My Gbomb freewill push pump hybrid finally arrived after a week of anxious waiting. Rushed to post office To collect it. Right after collecting parcel, I stepped out of post office and unpack parcel. Is like opening a xmas present.  Straight away started assembled them outside the post, ignoring passerby curious stare. I don't care. My gbomb is here that is what matters.

Assembled easily. Time for a test run with my cyclists and carvers freinds at east coast park. Cruise from ecp to changi.
Honestly, it is. Almost effortless to push compared to my earthwing but pumping is much harder than eathwing. Is tougher to maintain speed pumping on it. Probably. Is my truck setup. Time to go Gary's longboard love for new trucks and wheels.

Imagine flying to somewhere with my gbomb.
Custom officer: what do you have in your bag
Me: I have THE BOMB
Custom officerr: what the f
Me: I plan to bomb some hills

Straight to detention. It will be so epic

To woodlands

Last sun NADYA invited me to her family's raya open house. Forr dinner. I glady accept it. No prize guessing. I am skating there. Another 27km of new roads to explore. From tampines, found the pasir ris farmway. The road was absolutly crappy. I was having foot massage on the road caused by the vibrations. Found a path to punggol waterways . Damn smooth. Check the map thanks to. Gooogle, climb hill to get to 2 islands. Oh. Man, it is the best on road skate experience I had. Smooth. And less traffic. I just pump my way throughout the journey in 2 islands. Fianlly get to nadya home for dinner. What a way to reward myself with a sumptous meal

Changi night skate

Saturday night, my date cancelled cos her mum injured her leg. Well, that mean I get to go on date with my supermodel, pumping her all night. My earthwing greenie

Called my pal josh, and returned his pusher board. He cycled and iskated from tampines to east coast park then upwards to changi for nasi lemak supper. On the way, we pass the matallic concert. Is a long way to hell. Finally got my one man tent, light and dirt cheeap. Just in case I needed to camp in malaysia long skate. Skate 30km, that means I clock in 90 km in a week. Wait there is more, I am going to skate to nadya's. House in woodlands for hari raya visit. Back forth will mean 60km. Wohoo, 150 km in a week.. epic.

Coleman slides

TGIF skating with my crew at Marina bay sands. started from kembagan after sending off my students. After getting angled risers to wedge and dewedge my trucks, it felt a lot slower. I thought with new setup,  I should pump faster but nah. Though is less tiring, but pumping and pushing is a lot slower. Well, I can't wait for the gbomb to arrive.

At Marina bay, I was the first to arrive. I saw a whole family longboarding. Literal family with 2 kids, dad and mum with loaded and landyathz. Chatted with the dad, they trying new sport and is better than letting their kids go blind on their ipad. I wish I has such cool parents. This meant longboarding is for everyone and is getting good vibes from the public. Better. Image of our sport.

Practise my coleman slide, but something wrong with my setting. Probably the Dewedging. Tried to remove the angled risers but the nuts got stuck. Oh f it, I will just have to slide in it. Finally I got my aha moment. Do a super long wide toeside carve then turn it to coleman slide.. felt so shiok accomplishing it. Another slide learnt

Who need a bus

From my home in tampines, it takes me to skate

8 mins to my workplace in simei
30 mins to east coast park
1h30 m to MARINA bay sands
2h 15 m to Vivocity

Seriously,  just taking a bus is about same duration as me skating.
if I took bus 65 to vivocity, it will take me at least 2 hour. So why bus when you can skate

DIY noseguard

Used Water Hose and glue gun.
Cost -  virtually free.

And it takes knock from my frequent thrashing of curbs..
Things made from DIY always felt better than bought

Beat the rain

7th ghost month, time for prayers and extended family dinner once again. This year, I lost my god mother to cancer, so this gathering is first without her, and to pay my respect to her. What better way to travel than to skate 30km to her home in telok blangah.

My body is aching from fri skate, that I skipped my football session and IPPT test. Skies started pouring and thunder roared, look like someone upstair make the decision for me to take the bus and mrt. But no way, no drizzle is going to stop my skate except spoiling my bearings. I prepared my gears and the moment I push my greenie, all my aches is gone. I am back to Green EARTh SURFER. Woohoo, dashing against wind and surfing past the drizzle bring me back to life. Take me less than 1 hour 40 min to hit mbs and 3 hours to reach my destination. Who needs mrt now. I dont. I am glad I continue skate despite the weather cause it only drizzle for a while.

Pre malaysia on long skates warm up (Simei - MBS)

Met up with few east siders to skate from simei to MBS for some sliding practise and to meet up with the rest.

Along the way to mbs, one even met with accident. Going down a slope on Tan Tien is. Extremely bad idea. So don't try this at home kids. Lucky he just gotten few road rashes. Now you know why I rather wear long sleeves and jeans in a hot afternoon. I rather be hot than injured.

It was a slow skate cause the guys are not used to distance skating yet. So the journey took a hour longer than my usual.

Finally arrived MBS, time to put in my new slide gloves and SLIDE. Toeside pendy first la

Green Slide Gloves

Finally my sector 9 BHNC (bomb hill not country) HAS ARRIVED. Well,  it is struck at Singapore Post for bloody long time. They tried to deliver once but there isn't anyone at home during the day.  Of course,  I need to work. BUT NO NOTIFICATION OR DELIVERY NOTICE at my doorstep. Singapore post really sucks. I am never going to use amazon for cheap goods.

time to slide my green gloves, which of course suit my theme green earth surfer.

Stay tuned for review

Saturday night skating with CS

It is the long weekends again. After celebrating hari raya and national day and bringing my foreign friends around, it is time to surf once again. This time, it is Couchsurfing cycling skating event. Supposedly there will be 36 people joining but in end,  only 20 turned up. I guess clicking yes is free. 4 longboarders, 1 inline skater and rest of bunch of wussy cyclists..

We ride from ecp to Garden by the bays for photos and makan session and back to ecp. I figured it is way harder to skate at a slower pace, the cyclists are moving like snails, I keep stopping to let them catch up.

Few cyclists got intrigued by us longboarders especially with me in pumping obscene movements a good way to hook up chicks,  helping them to balance on board. One gal took less than 30 mins to get the hang of it. Amazing, looks like we are getting more converts to 4 wheels side

From ecp, my foreign friends staying with me and joshua skated back home to tampines. I reckon total distance is 45 km.  My body is still intact, no sores or aches. Push and pump looks good for my trip.

Best push pump setup

Woke up to a sore body after 70km skate last night. Don't feel like playing football with my team in aching condition, and so got the perfect excuse when it started pouring. Yea, hello bed once again.

Read up on tweaking my bushings for pumpability, so is time to visit  418 skate shop in bedok. I skated 5.6km in my front bear and rear indy trucks with Pushing and pumping. Felt good despite my sore body.

Tweak front bear bushing to venom cone SHR 78a roadside and boardside 80a. No wedge risers though, so Gary from 418 use my bear stocking bushing to wedge my front.. sounds crazy but it works. On the way back skate never felt so stoked before.. pumping and pushing feel so fast and energy efficient, never turn on my gps tracks, but I'm pretty sure I beat my 20kmh on flats record. Felt like 30kmh.

Though it is not the best setup ever, at least it is the best with I have. Malaysia here I skate

Long distance push / pump

At first, I can't decide whether to go for pumping or pushing. After trying to push in my Indy, f it, It was horrendous, my legs went jelly. So 3P for my journey is push pump paddle

i m setting up for long distance pump/push. Though my earthwing supermodel is not the best of both worlds in pushing and pumping, I still managed to skate 70km in it

At first, I tried pushing only with indy 215 but still too tiring, so now I experimenting with loose bear 852 in front and tight indy in rear.

Basically I push to gain speed then pump to maintain it. Then the process repeats. Is not that fast but is more energy efficient for me, after all is finishing the distance, not how fast

70km mark

Finally broke the 70 km. Tampines to sentosa back and forth albeit the stopover and frisbee game

Using my new indy 215 is bad idea.. I m trying to push all the way but my leg gave way. In the end,  I go back to my pumps to sustain efficency.. so is push push push pump pump push pump
Man, I miss my bear.  I am going to put my bear back on once again

Pre malaysia long skate warm up

Total distance hit 35km and reach max speed 20kmh on flats though I think I did faster than that.. my google track don't seem to register that
On the way, I got my indy 215 trucks and rad release wheel for slide.
indeed my indy lower my deck, now super pushable..

Finally accomplished my toeside pendy slide, after ben just explained once. And I did it with no slide pluck.. just so epic till my slider crew got chased by the guards. Well at least managed to slide.. so is a good day

Pre Malaysia Training - Tampines - City Hall - Marina Bay Sand

TGIF! Time to skate some km. Getting my indy 215 to make my board even lower and RAD release for sliding @ Spitfire Skate.

What better way to get there but to skate there. Pray for good weather and accident free

Total Distance estimated 20km

Land paddle Pop

People always ask me, what happens when you have legs cramps in middle of my trip.

Well, there is always a land paddle and it is cool, felt like cruising on boat except I am on land.
But wait, these kahuna cunt poles cost $100. WTh daylight robbery.. never fear, such simple things can always be DIY

Just a bamboo poles (sorry pandas), a tennis ball and rubber stopper is enough to do the job.

Bamboo pole = $2
Tennis ball = $2
Rubber Stopper = $0.50
Total price = PRICELESS, from not getting ripped off

I am calling it my Paddle pop. Why? Reminds me of magnolia ice-cream adverts, search for lion singing paddle pop
